In this article, we will walk through how to set up each of the Samsara modules that can come with the IG41.
The IG41 can come with these modules: AI Module, AO Module, DIO Module. See steps below to set up the modules in the Cloud once they are installed.
Activate Devices
Once you unbox the modules, find the serial number. The serial number can be found on the box, or on the sticker on the side of the device. Format - GXXX-XXX-XXX
Go to the Samsara Cloud and activate the device by entering the serial number in the activation box. More information on device activation can be found in this article: Activate Device(s) in the Cloud
Name and Configure Modules
Navigate to Settings → Gateways → Specific Gateway with IO modules → Gateway Channels Tab
Scroll down to view the modules that are connected to this gateway. Each Module’s name and configuration can be edited by clicking the blue Edit on the right side. Click the expand arrow to view the individual points on the modules and change the function of them. Click Save when finished to keep the changes.
Name all of the modules! This can be helpful in sorting IO later when troubleshooting.
Live values of all inputs and outputs can be viewed in the module configuration area. This can be useful when initially installing a module to be able to view the input value without creating a data input.
