Summary

We will go through how to set up the Analog and Digital IO gateway channels as Inputs or Outputs to then create IO.

Configure Digital IO

By default, all digital IO are set up as inputs. In order to set these IO as outputs to use in Dashboards or Control, these channels will need to be configured in the Gateway Input page.

To change the Digital IO channels as outputs, find the IG under Settings > Gateways and click the three dots and select Inputs.

To configure the digital IO slots, select the channel to edit and a configuration pop-up will appear. To set the channel as inputs, select Input; to set the channel as an output, select Output Open. Once this is set to Output Open, you can then select this channel as a source when creating Data Outputs.

Now, you can configure Data Inputs or Outputs using the Source = Gateway Channel:

Configure Analog IO

You’ll need to configure analog IO in order to get data into your dashboards.

By default, all analog IO are configured as current. To make changes, find the IG under Settings > Gateways > click the three dots and select Inputs.

Below the image of the IG are the analog and digital IO. To change them, click on the input and select the desired mode.

The mode needed is based on the sensor or output device:

  • If an analog sensor sends a 0-10V signal to the IG, Voltage is the correct mode

  • If the signal is 4-20mA, then Current is the correct mode.

Now, you can configure Data Inputs or Outputs using the Source = Gateway Channel:
